Mike Fizzell- Conductor
Mr. Fizzell has over 30 years experience in public and private music instruction. He earned his bachelor's degree in violin performance from the University of Texas at Austin where he served off and on as concertmaster of the U. T. symphony orchestra. He played 9 years in the Austin Symphony first violin section and was the principal second violinist with the Austin Lyric Opera for its first 5 seasons. He founded and for 10 years directed the Christian Youth Orchestra of Central Texas. He currently freelances as a professional violinist in the central Texas region, teaches privately, and manages and performs with the Rose Strings. He and his wife Cindy home schooled their two sons through high school, and are currently home schooling their 8-year-old daughter.
